Cultural Services
comprise nonmaterial benefits people obtain from ecosystems through spiritual enrichment, reflection, recreation, and aesthetic feel. This includes:

- Artful values. People discover beauty and satisfaction of aesthetic needs in diverse aspects of ecosystems.
- Ornamental resource. Plants – specially flowers – and brute products such as feathers and horns, furs, skins, and shells are used as ornaments. The value of these resources is often culturally adamant.
- Sense of place. People value the attachment to their homeland/their home range. This "sense of identify" is associated with recognised features of their environment, including aspects of the ecosystem.
- Cultural heritage values. Societies place high value on the maintenance of either historically of import landscapes ("cultural landscapes") or culturally significant species that form the contextual underpinnings of a civilization.
- Cultural diversity. The variety of ecosystems influences the diverseness of cultures.
- Knowledge systems. Ecosystems influence the types of noesis systems developed past different cultures.
- Educational values. Ecosystems and their components and processes provide the basis for both formal and breezy education in many societies.
Cultural services depend heavily on either directly or indirect human apply of the service: An ecosystem provides cultural services only if there are people who value the cultural heritage associated with it.
