We are committed to serving people in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with special needs through Community Outreach Programs, and through developing the potential dogs accept to assist people in need. Aid Dogs and lifetime follow-up support are provided free of charge.

Therapy Dogs Visit Wyatt House

ADNW Therapy Dog teams visited the senior residents at Wyatt House this month. Wendi Major, Tom Weed, and Theresa Olson brought Therapy Dogs Meadow, Louis and Piper to offer snuggles and comfort to the residents and staff. One participant shared, "These dogs really warm my middle" and some other commented, "Dogs really do know simply what you need. They are then smart and loving." Everyone is already looking forrad to their next visit!
Preparation at Rex County District Court

Advanced dogs in training Gilligan and Hudson had an opportunity to visit a court this month in Seattle. They were enthusiastically welcomed by the gauge and staff! They skillful going through metal detectors and security, riding in elevators, and sitting in the witness stand. Courthouse dogs provides condolement and strength to children who are victims of crime, as well as support through the difficult legal process.
Introducing Nalu and Nico

Nosotros welcomed 2 new pups to our training program this month. Nalu and Nico are 12-calendar week-old male person Labrador Retrievers, and come to united states from our friends at Career Dogs Australia. They have already started their Kindergarten Preparation and are learning to sit down, stay, and walk nicely on a leash. They brought lots of smiles in the Puppy Kissing Berth at our Valentine's Benefit Event!
2020/2021 Graduation Ceremony

Due to the pandemic nosotros were unable to do graduation ceremonies in person in 2020 and 2021, so we combined them into a virtual graduation this year to celebrate all of our graduates from the final ii years! Congratulations to all of the graduate teams, sponsors, puppy raisers, and trainers on this wonderful achievement!
Community Outreach Resumes at Madrona House

The residents and staff at Madrona House for Bainbridge Senior Living were visited by some of our staff and dogs-in-preparation this calendar month. Residents were greeted affectionately by Mikey and Tess who practiced their "visits" and brought smiles to everyone. Thanks to the residents and staff for such a warm welcome back!
Casey joins the Doernbecher squad
October 15, 2021
Casey finished Team Training Camp and will be working with Hospital Facility Dogs Davis and Hope at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Casey will exist working with handlers Nikki Wiggins (Neonatal ICU Nurse Manager) and Rebecca Trout (Kid Life Specialist). Casey'due south office is to provide comfort and back up to children and their families during their stay at the hospital. Since she loves to snuggle, Casey has found her dream task!
